Job Title: K-12 Music & Choir

 

Qualifications: Must hold a valid AR teaching license in the area above or be enrolled in an eligible DESE Educator Preparation Program in Arkansas 

 

Salary: Licensed Salary Schedule 

 

Report to: Principal

 

190 contract, experience preferred.

 

Position Overview:

 

To assist each student in developing an appreciation of music; teach techniques of performance; discover and develop the talents of students in the field of music; provide a high-quality experience in music and provide for musical growth and expression

 

Job Responsibilities:

• Coordinates the choral music program
• Establish performance requirements and enforce academic requirements
• Orders all supplies and materials necessary for music and choir-related activities, staying within budget allocations
• Develops and implements plans for the instrumental music program and choir and provides written evidence of preparation as required
• Coordinates music programs for school productions that enhance the students' performing experience
• Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance
• Other duties as assigned

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:   

1. Abide by state statutes, school board policies, and regulations.
2. Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
3. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
4. Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
5. Serve on committees as assigned.
6. Remain current on instructional practices in education.  (e.g. instructional technology)
